Eric S. Dym is a retired NYPD Lieutenant and U.S. Marine Corps veteran who served during Operation Iraqi Freedom. A 2001 Honor Graduate of the Marine Corps Platoon Leaders Course, he holds a bachelor’s degree in history from the College of Staten Island. Dym began his NYPD career in 2004, earning recognition for life-saving actions and leading anti-crime efforts focused on illegal firearms in the South Bronx. Despite top evaluations and qualifying for promotion, he retired in 2022 following disciplinary challenges tied to Civilian Complaint Review Board substantiations.

Since retiring, Dym has been an outspoken advocate for reforming NYPD disciplinary procedures and due process. He is the co-host of New York’s Finest: Retired and Unfiltered Podcast and remains active in public discussions on policing, military service, and public safety. A lifelong VFW member, he is passionate about RV travel, Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, and leadership development.
