The NYPD has announced a pilot program to digitize its overtime reporting system. The initiative replaces the traditional paper-based Overtime Report (PD138-064) with a fully digital format, designed to streamline administrative efficiency and ensure faster, more accurate processing of overtime claims.

The program officially began on September 15, 2025, and is being rolled out to select units including:

Office of the First Deputy Commissioner

Office of the Personnel Bureau

Police Academy

120th Precinct

120th Precinct Detective Squad

Key Highlights of the Pilot Program

Digital Only: All overtime requests in pilot commands must be submitted digitally via the Centralized Personnel Resource (CPR) system.

No More Paper: Paper reports will only be accepted if the overtime is performed outside pilot commands, but must still be uploaded digitally afterward.

Supervisor Review:

  • Once submitted, the digital overtime report will be available for supervisory approval within a command-level review queue.
  • Desk officers/designated supervisors must periodically monitor this queue and approve/deny submissions.
  • The Reason for Overtime caption (e.g., arrest, investigative, operational, detail/large incident, etc.) must be reviewed by the desk officer/designated supervisor prior to approval.
  • Only a supervisor at least one rank above the submitting member may approve a second endorsement of a digital overtime report unless signed by a commanding officer, executive officer, integrity control officer, or squad commander for the 120th Precinct Detective Squad.

Payroll Integration: Approved reports will feed directly into CityTime, eliminating duplicate log entries for supervisors.

Support: Issues with the CPR system should go to the CPR Support Unit, while pay or CityTime issues should be reported to the Personnel Bureau CityTime Help Desk.
